Pasture Raised Lamb
Our
small flock of Merino sheep are rotationally grazed throughout the spring, summer and fall.
In the heart of the winter, they snuggle into the safety of the barn for lambing. When spring arrives, the new lambs are old enough to come out of the barn and romp around in the fresh new grass.
In season, the sheep head to new pasture about once per week, a day always anxiously anticipated by our beloved Rosie, a Labrador retriever by breed, but a Border collie at heart. She leads and corrals the flock, usually successfully, then sits to enjoy the sounds of sheep, gratefully munching away at fresh pasture.
Our lamb is vacuum sealed and
flash frozen. A variety of cuts are available at Red
Hen Farm.
