Red Hen Farm HensWelcome to Red Hen Farm! We are a diversified, family farm located in Western Massachusetts.

Red Hen Farm started with a simple goal in mind. We wanted to produce as much of our own food as possible.

This was no small feat for former suburbanites!  Growing up in a town of manicured lawns, with only one agreeable cat for livestock, and not a single garden around for miles, we were a bit lacking in the knowledge and experience department.  With a little bit of grit and a lot of help and advice, we've learned many lessons on our way to that goal.  Happily, and a bit surprisingly, we've also met with some success.

We've shared many meals made only from foods produced right here at Red Hen Farm!  Our freezers are stocked with our own chicken, turkey and lamb. The pantry shelves are lined with strawberry, raspberry and blueberry jam, all from berries grown right here. We wake to breakfasts of freshly collected eggs (as of this writing, we still import the coffee) and this year plan to expand our operations to add Red Hen Farm bacon to the list! We press our own cider in the fall, boil our own maple syrup in the spring and we are looking forward to our own honey!

It's nearly ten years in, here at Red Hen Farm, and we are now raising enough food to share! Our fresh, local turkey, chicken and lamb are available for sale at the farm.

Some of our other products include organic eggs from our pasture-raised flock of happy hens, organically grown blueberries and raspberries, fresh shiitake mushrooms and green-spun yarn from our flock of Merino sheep.

To us, a day spent on Red Hen Farm is a day well spent! We invite you to come on out to the farm, have a look around and visit with our friendly animals!
